Recovery and Patience

recovery and patience
Recovery Is All About Patience.
Recovery can’t be something you rush. You can’t just enter rehab and expect to be “cured” in 30, 60 or 90 days. You have to work toward it one day at a time. This is something that the members of the band Green Day are learning. Front man Billie Joe Armstrong entered rehab in late September after having a meltdown onstage at the iHeartRadio music festival in Las Vegas. Since then, the band has had to slow down its usual busy schedule. Green Day’s bassist, Mike Dirnt, said that the band had to cancel shows since Armstrong entered rehab. It may be hard for the band to be on a break from touring but they support their band mate. Dirnt went on to say that “sometimes you have to step back and let life go rather than try to control everything.” When it comes to addiction, you need to realize that you are no longer in control of your life; drugs are. The moment you accept this, recovery can begin. It’s good to know that Armstrong is taking his recovery seriously. This attitude will get him through rehab. But the support of his band and other loved ones will help him get through life after rehab. It is a long road but taking his recovery one day at a time will give him a strong foundation to living a life free of alcohol. Have you ever had to be patient to achieve something?
