Ultra Music and Drugs

ultra music festival and drug use
Ultra
Ultra Music Festival has been coming to Miami since 1999 and this year, it has expanded to two March weekends from just one.  The electronic music festival is one of many festivals that highlight the music calendar, like Coachella, Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza. Known for music, and in the case of many of them, known for drug use. Ecstasy and other drugs, including some hallucinogens, are often linked to electronic music. Ultra is known for the volume of drugs sold and used. The undercover officers don’t necessarily deter drug users. In 2012, there were 71 arrests in total for the music festival weekend. For the first weekend of the 2013 festival, police reported 84 arrests, although disorderly conduct and failure to pay were more common than the narcotics arrests. Many of the music lovers who use drugs may end up doing things that they normally would not do. But reports so far have been mild, with even non-fans noting that the crowds seemed tolerable.  Some fans may end up in YouTube videos they might regret and others may end up with irreversible damage from drug use. But so far the arrests, drug use and debauchery seem to have been kept to a minimum for such a large crowd. Do you know of any sober music festivals?
